 Michigan Charitable Gaming Association

ABOUT

MiCGA is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit trade association, incorporated in the State of Michigan in 2008. MiCGA's membership includes charitable organizations and room operators throughout the state. MiCGA is the voice of the charitable gaming industry in the State of Michigan. The funds raised through charitable gaming licenses allow MiCGA's member organizations, as well as other charities involved in charitable gaming, to carry out the valuable programs on which so many residents of Michigan rely each day.

MISSION

MiCGA's mission is to advocate for and educate our members, legislators, and the general public on matters related to charitable gaming, so as to preserve the positive impact charitable gaming has on our communities.

PURPOSE

  • Maintain the long-term stability of charitable fundraising in Michigan through education, collaboration, and legislation.

  • Improve and streamline conditions for charities and other organizations engaged in charitable fundraising.

  • Serve as a spokesperson for its members at the local, state, and federal level.

  • Provide the membership with information on regulatory and legislative matters.

  • Collaborate with legislators, the Charitable Gaming Division of the Michigan Lottery, and the Michigan Gaming Control Board on legislation that impacts charitable gaming activities.

  • Educate the public and non-profit organizations engaged in charitable fundraising under the Traxler-McCauley-Law-Bowman Bingo Act 382 of 1972.

  • Help charities better understand the qualification, application, and licensing processes.

  • Assist charities and room operators with mitigating issues that may arise.
